Think understanding marketing is hard? Nope.
It’s all about understanding your market and talking to them so they “get” you.
Think that’s hard? Nope. Mothers with children in the same age category do it all the time. They can share experiences in a way that tells the other Mother…”you had me at Hello”.
A recent example happened when I was hunting online for a case to protect my Ipad Mini. I have a toddler with toddler “tendencies”. And since I like to eat out from time to time, I’ve learned to give up the fight and give her the Ipad. It’s worth at least 30 min of peace and quiet…provided she doesn’t drop it.
So guess what I did after I read this review:
I purchased this for my 2 year old’s ipad (don’t judge, the Disney Jr. app is keeping me sane). I’m pretty sure it was handcrafted by unicorns. It’s the most awesome product ever. No really. EVER.
Not only can he haul it around by the nifty little handle, but he can use that grip as a shot put and the incredibly squishy material allows it to just bounce off the wall with little to no damage to anything else! You can read the rest here
Yup. I bought it. And thought….how easy it is to get others to understand the basics of marketing through this review. This Mother clearly spoke to other Moms with 2 and 3 year olds who wanted a durable Ipad cases AND a judgment free parenting zone without all of the “how could she do that?” comments that strangers without young children often share.
So I encourage you to be a student of marketing. Just watch what other good marketers do. You’ll communicate better with everyone – friends, family, future employers, future college recruiters. It’s all about learning how to speak and write in a manner that your audience can relate to. So look for the examples that connect with you and see what they did to grab your attention.
