I read about a contest recently that I thought was an amazing idea. The Secret Millionaires Club is asking young people ages 7 to 16 to pitch a business idea in exchange for the chance to win 5k and the chance to meet Warren Buffett.
Now your young daughter may not be familiar with Mr Buffett’s accomplishments. But I’m sure you as a parent are!! This man is one of the richest people on the planet and is well known for his long term investment strategies. I think the prize of meeting and getting to connect with Mr Buffett is worth 10x the actual cash prize. Imagine the advice that he can offer from having worked with and met so many other entrepreneurs!!!
So get your daughter’s brainstorming and thinking cap on – what are some creative ideas that she can come up with?
A question that can help her get started – What does she wish existed that could help people solve a problem? In other words, ” I wish there was a….”
I’ve done this very activity at least 100x with my young entrepreneurs groups by giving them markers, paper and the question. It’s always amazing to me to see the creative ideas that students develop.
