Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times in the year. Not only is it filled with opportunities to be grateful and eat good food (please pass the sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and stuffing!!), but it’s also time to connect with those relatives that you don’t get to see everyday.
So don’t miss that opportunity for your daughter to engage with her distant relatives.
Not only to spread the family love but also to get an insight into the entrepreneurs in the family. I’m sure your family has a few entrepreneurs, business owners, or successful executives like every family does. As your daughter might not get the opportunity to engage with them daily – make sure she asks a few questions this holiday season:
- How did they get started?
- What type of business do they have?
- Why did they start?
Simple questions but often providing powerful lessons and insight.
If she really gets interested in the conversation, see if she can spend a day shadowing her relative. It’s one thing to talk about it. But it really plants the seeds when she gets to see it in action.
And remember have fun with the conversation. No one wants to be thinking too hard when the Tryptophan haze sets in.
Wishing you and your family all the best and many blessings this Thanksgiving!!
