The name of the our business is called Girls of Decision aka G.O.D. My daughter and I run this business together and provide workshops.

Our mission is educate local girls on becoming strong decision makers in the global society as well as agents of change in their local community. We do this by providing opportunities for the girls to learn financial literacy, community service, and academic empowerment workshops. We meet bi-monthly with other young “Decision Makers” to learn the basic academic concepts to be educationally informed global and community agents of change.
I received the original idea after reading the book Think and Grow Rich by a Napoleon Hill. It triggered a thought/idea in me that manifested into God. I approached my 7 year old daughter at the time on the concept and she was excited to be apart of the business. Once she was onboard we were able to move forward in making it a reality. We both work together to create the curriculum for the programming.
My favorite part about being an entrepreneur is being able to make my own decisions on what may work for the girls we work with.- Nia 8 years old.
My favorite part of being an entrepreneur is leading by example for my daughter and the youth we work with – Nashima, Mom

The disadvantages are the face that you have to make the hard decisions that some people may not agree with. You want to please everyone but you know you can’t!
If you have an idea you would like to put into practice just do it. Worry about the fine details later. Usually whatever you plan will have to be redone anyway so just learn on the job!
